Political orientation

Europa.blog sees itself as critically constructive towards the EU. The EU is one of the most significant achievements of civilisation: it provides a political framework in which conflicts of interest are negotiated and resolved at parliamentary level – sometimes in lengthy and laborious processes – rather than militarily on the battlefield. Precisely because this is an enormous civilisational advance, it is necessary to subject the EU to constant public criticism so that it continues to develop democratically, peacefully, socially and ecologically, and so that European societies do not fall back into the era of nationalism and warlike conflict resolution.
